Website Design

A good website starts with a good plan.

Easy 5 Step Process

Discovery
Our adventure starts with discovery. It’s the first step in good website development. I need to get to know you, your business, and your goals. We’ll talk about features, functionality, color pallets, and style. The more information I gather from you, the better.
Proposal
I’ll send over a proposal outlining the scope of work and your quote. This outline will also include any information you might need regarding third-party services and custom art procedures. We can make changes as needed. When you’re ready to start, a 50% non-refundable deposit will be needed.
Compile
School really did get us ready for life. It’s homework time! During this step, you’ll be given a list of information and materials needed. The design process will not begin until everything has been sent over. If the scope of work includes me writing your website copy, this may flow a little differently.
Design
During this step, sit back and relax. You can focus on your family, business, or maybe binge that show you’ve been wanting to watch. I’ll be hard at work using everything gathered to build your dream website. You’ll be provided a private link to your live build. You can review the progress and request changes. There will be a lot of coffee consumed unless I decide to have tea. Tea is good too.
Launch
At this point, you’ve approved everything done for your website and there is nothing left to do but go live! You will receive an invoice for the remaining balance. Once that has been paid in full, your website will be launched.

Questions People Often Ask

An ideal scenario will see your website completed in 4-6 weeks from the start date. The time it takes to complete the project can be impacted by the slow delivery of needed information or materials.

No, please be cautious of anyone who says they can. There are a lot of factors that play into decent website rankings. Abstractionz includes SEO with all website work, focusing on making sure search engines can properly read and index your site. This is accomplished by following the industry’s best SEO practices.

Yes. Be sure to mention the need when requesting a quote!

Invoices are sent via Paypal and allow for using any major credit card or a debit card. You do not need a Paypal account to pay your invoice.

For maintenance packages, you can pay monthly or annually. This can be done by a subscription or invoice.

No, you don’t have to. The option is available to help keep everything quick and simple. Some people may find it confusing or complicated to pay out to the designer (Abstactionz) and then a hosting company. By integrating the hosting, domain, and SSL into your monthly maintenance package, you get one bill and don’t have to worry about missing renewal dates. If you already have a domain, we can work with that and still host in-house.

Your domain will belong to you, and if you need it released, we’ll provide the information required: no fooling around and no hidden costs.

I regularly work with WordPress, one of the easiest platforms to use for self-maintaining a website once it’s up and running. I’ll even keep it backed up regularly so that if you make a mistake, we can reset everything back to before the big OOPS!

I’ll also provide a personalized video on how to make updates on your website.

For websites: More or less, I offer unlimited revisions. However, if it starts to look like the offer is being abused, we reserve the right to add a limit if things get out of hand. Remember, a website is never truly finished. You’ll be making changes regularly, so if you’re nervous about finalizing something and remaining happy with it, you can change it later.

For custom illustrations/graphics: When it comes to custom illustrations, graphics or hand-drawn anything, there is a limit to revisions. And once a stage is approved, you can not go back and ask for changes. So it’s important to communicate everything clearly from the sketch to line work and coloring.

Music is just about always playing when I’m working. Generally, a mug of coffee is sitting on the desk that I do sip casually. But sometimes, if I’m working in the evening, I switch it up to hot tea and occasionally cocoa.
